Plantra TreeHaven™ Mesh Tubes work for both evergreen and deciduous tree and shrub seedlings. Choose a planting location that receives 6–8 hours of full sun. Remove all weeds from the planting spot. As the old adage goes: “If you have a five-dollar tree, dig a ten-dollar hole!”
Use one stake to hold the TreeHaven™ Mesh Tube open and upright.
Tip: Use a sod anchor staple at the base of the tube to secure it to the soil and reduce critter intrusion. Position the staple away from the stake for better anchoring. (See Figure 2)
Hint: When using Plantra® Twist-Lock Rubber-Coated Twist Ties, bend 3–4 inches of one end into a hook (See Figure 4). Starting outside the tube:
Cross and pull the ends tight, twist three times to secure. Repeat for remaining tie points.
