Cost	Buy large potted balled and burlapped (B&B) trees costing $200 or more.	Buy seedling trees and protect them with Plantra tree tubes- cost per tree is less than $10
Selection	Limited to the species nurseries grow to "caliper" size...and nurseries are limited to growing only the few species they know will sell 4-5 years in advance.	Almost unlimited species selection, including trees that producers of B&B specimens won't grow: Many oaks, native species, rare and hybrid species, American chestnut- your planting pallette is much wider.
Growth	Large B&B trees suffer severe "transplant shock" so grow very slowly for the first few years.	Seedlings in Plantra Tree Tubes start growing from day one, and quickly catch up to larger trees.
