Weeds and grasses steal light, water and nutrients from your trees.
Every square foot of soil is capable of producing a fixed amount of biomass growth. By controlling weeds, you channel all of that growth potential into your trees, for optimal growth.

Secure your Plantra Weed Mats with 6in x 1in x 6in weed mat staples, with rocks or on-site debris, or by burying the corners.
In May 2008 Lee Wahlund of the Central Dakota Sportsmen’s Club planted several hundred 12 to 18 inch red & pin cherry seedlings in Carrington, ND.
The results:
• No tree tube & no weed mat: 50% mortality (Figure 1).
• Plantra Weed Mat only: 75% survival (a 25% improvement), seedlings had 6 to 12 inches of new growth (Figure 2 & 3).
• Plantra Tree Tube only: 100% survival, seedlings had 18 to 36 inches of new growth (Figure 2 & 3).
• Plantra Tree Tube PLUS Plantra Weed Mat: 100% survival, seedlings had 30 to 48 inches of new growth! (Figure 3).
