California Oak Reforestation Photos by Plantra team
This is a picture of a grazing site that is open to cattle and deer browse throughout the year. The only protection on some of these trees was treeshelters.
This is a picture showing the exclusion site with light deer browse pressure but no cattle grazing.
It is also a side by side comparison between the tree growth differences of treesheltered vs. non-treesheltered. The row on the right were guarded with a treeshelter but the row on the left was non-treesheltered. There's a height difference ranging from 2 feet (non-treesheltered) to 6 feet (treeshelter).
The tree on the left was not tubed whereas the tree on the rights was tubed early in its life.
Trees in background were tubed whereas the tree in the foreground remained non-tubed.
