O-style Tree Tubes are cylindrical in shape, a circular (O-shaped) tube. The advantages are fast installation & large diameter for optimal growth. O-style tubes are generally preferred by tree planters.
Our best-selling product is the 5ft Vented O-style Tree Tube.
- Most complete protection from deer browse
- Vented for optimal growth, and so trees harden off for winter. If you are north of the Mason Dixon line and need a 4 or 5ft tube, you definitely need the vented O-style tube.
Our 2nd best selling product is the 4ft Vented O-style Tree Tube.
- Gets your trees off to a great start – a great choice if budget limitations mean you need to choose between protecting fewer trees with a 5ft tube or more trees with a 4ft tube
- Allows branching at 4ft
- Vented for proper hardening off
- If you have deer, you will likely need to spray emerging trees with Deer Guard™ to help them grow past the deer browse line
If deer are not a problem, or for shrubs you want to get started and later treat with Deer Guard, 2ft and 3ft O-style tubes will do the trick. |
C-style Tree Tubes are slit lengthwise, and the two edges are overlapped and fastened to the stake. They are more time-consuming to install, and provide a smaller growing diameter for the tree. Most tree planters favor the O-style Tree Tube, C-style tubes have a following among planters who:
- Are planting vineyards or orchards and want to easily remove and reuse the tubes after successfully establishing vines or trees & training them to the trellis
- Want to join 2 tubes together to make a "double wide" tree tube with extra growing volume
- Plan to remove and re-use the tubes on other shrubs or trees (especially fast growing species)
If deer are not a problem, or for shrubs you want to get started and later treat with Deer Guard™, 1.5ft, 2ft, 2.5ft and 3ft C-style tubes will do the trick. |
